Deep in Upper Esk, at the top of the Fingal Valley in northeastern Tasmania, is Fallow’s Rest, a creekside camping grove and creative wild-stay for the artist, the explorer or the simply wild-at-heart. See our Art page for details of artworks painted here at Fallow’s Rest.

Fallow’s Rest is home to a range of wildlife including quolls, devils, wombats, echidnas and platypus, with fallow deer an occasional passer-by.

The creekbanks feature rare burrowing crayfish with their strange mounded ‘chimneys’, native jasmine, blackwood trees dripping with lichens, and shaggy man-ferns that blacken the sky.

At half an hour from Fingal and a little under an hour from Launceston, Fallow’s Rest is a camping experience for those who love all things wild.

Note: Fallows Rest is not taking any bookings at present. However, while the camping sites are out of commission for the time being, please check out our Art page for our creative expression—animal portraits and still life compositions! In future, we will be running creative wild-stays at sites on the property for outdoor and scenic painting—stay tuned.
